Water, dairy, and meals without constant snacking do more for enamel than charcoal paste. Dr. Alok Bhardwaj talks diet at checkups in Jaipur. Pair this with a daily cleaning routine.

Which foods help enamel?

Saliva is the real protective layer. Cheese, unsweetened yoghurt, eggs, and water after meals raise pH. Crunchy vegetables increase saliva. Fluoride in water and toothpaste lets enamel rebuild between acid hits. NIDCR on decay: nidcr.nih.gov.

What should I limit?

  • Sipping cola, sports drinks, or sweet chai for hours.
  • Sticky sweets that sit in pits of molars.
  • Brushing immediately after vomit or citrus. Wait 30 minutes so softened enamel is not scrubbed away.

Does charcoal toothpaste remineralise teeth?

No. It can wear enamel. Remineralisation is fluoride plus time, not a powder. See whitening that is actually peroxide-based.

Kids and bottles

Milk or juice in a bottle at night is a common cause of early childhood caries. First visit timing: when to bring your child.
